Aspects of Ministry
Core of Ministry
Grass root level evangelism:- among blind, rag-pickers, slum dwellers, drop-out girls
Disciplining:- New believers, tribal Christians, blind believers
Care giving:- To blind people, deprived tribal students
I. Tyranus Project:
► To assist needy Tribal Christian students:
They want to study but don't have adequate school, good atmosphere in remote area. They can get good education in Christian atmosphere where their moral will grow to high standard. We assist them to overcome poverty.
At present we support 27 Tribal students and assist six other students partially. List of students sponsoced during acadamic year 2011-2012.
II. Dorkas Project:
► To assist rural young ladies and widows to be equipped in Tailoring so that they can live respectfully and provide for their family's need.
Our first Dorkas Tailoring Class was inaugurated at Meghaninagar, Ahmedabad on January 23, 2011. (See report: www.skblind.org/d/dorkas1.html )
III. Siloam Project:
► To help visually Impaired Persons (VIP) to live respectfully.
◙ Home for aged Blind people:
⌂ We are concerned for the senior blind people. They are on their own. There are only a few job opportunity for blind people and most of them live on charity. When they reach 50-55 years they are in trouble and live in pathetical condition. There is no Shelter/Home run by Government in Gujarat.
There are only two Home for Aged blind people in North and West of our Gujarat state which are about 300-350 km from here. There is no provision for their stay and food in this part of Gujarat. They live on pavement/footpath.
We are much moved and we want to show love of Jesus to them in providing shelter and food. Please pray that the Lord's love can be manifested through this project.◙ Braille Publication:

IV. Feeding Five Thousand Project:
► There are more than two thousand Rag picker children and child laborers in our area. They live in pathetic condition. Early in the morning they leave to collect paper & plastic waste (early bird will get worm!). They cannot afford a cup of tea. So we want to share 'Lad's lunch box' with them, just cup of warm tea and some toasts. It will cheer up their spirit. It is sharing love of Christ. We wish to rescue child laborers and educate them.
V. King's Kids:
We have located two responsive areas among slums where we can commence children ministry.
►We can teach them:

⌂ Assist them in their studies (give them Tuition)
⌂ Teach Christian songs and stories
⌂ Provide nutritious refreshments
⌂ Can provide clothing and blankets

VI. Barean Projects
►To provide continual studies to pastors, missionaries, lay preachers
⌂ Publication of (free) bimonthly magazine (1500 copies)

VII. Tribal Outreach:
Tribal belt in Gujarat is most responsive to the Gospel. There are some Evangelists who preach Good News in South Gujarat. Yet so much to be done. There are several hundred villages which are untouched by Gospel.
After visiting several villages in Dang district, prayerfully we have decided to appoint two local mature believers to reach their people. We have known Mr.D.K. since past four years. He is leader in Jagiri village. He has agreed to work as our Evangelist in unreached villages. Mr.B. from nearby village will work with him.
We provide hope and an opportunity for a better life
The prime objective of Serving Friends Foundation is to reach the unreached with the living Word of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We aim to
■ Help in the socio-economic development of the poorest of poor
■ Help children who are deprived of good education
■ Help unemployed young widows and young ladies in Rural area
■ Help in self-employment through Help Care Projects for blind people
■ Relieve child laborers and place them to school to complete their Education
■ Provide cup of tea and toasts to Rag pickers and child laborers
■ Identify job opportunity for unemployed blind people

- The adult literacy rate has a wide discrepancy between males – 73%, and females – 48% (2000-2004).
- Only 59 percent of boys and 47 percent of girls attend Secondary school (1996-2005).
- AIDS has spread rapidly in India and some estimates have said that by 2020 there could be 200 million carrying HIV.
