He was Pastor in many Methodist congregations at Mumbai and Gujarat. He trained youth and leaders in Outreach Ministries. Apart from visiting each family of church regularly; whether rich or poor, near or far, he conducted many Evangelistic meetings in different areas, VBS and regular meetings for non-Christian children, Tracts distribution at many traditional fairs in Gujarat. He also arranged 'Jesus' and other Christian films show at many places. Many seekers attended special meetings and many were saved.
His wife Hephsie also helped in all possible ways. She along with church women, they had regular Prayer meetings.
One afternoon of March 1979, Rev.Dr.Khristmukti faced a strange visitor. He was surprised to greet a blind young student. He had come in search of Braille Bible. At the end of conversation with Mr.Gajanan, a young Hindu seeker, invited Christ in his life as his personal Savior.
Rev.Dr.Khristmukti met several of his friends at school for the Blind. And this "opened his eyes" to the need of reaching Blind people for Christ. There are estimated 12 million Blind people in India, i.e. 25% of Global Blind people are found in this large Nation.
With the Pastoral responsibilities Rev.Dr.Khristmukti continued to witness Visually Impaired Persons (VIP) for eight years. Then the Conference loaned him to other Christian organizations for sometime from 1988 and he conducted Gospel Camps and Retreats. He published 20 titles in Gujarati Braille including Song Books.
It was the beginning of the concentrated affords to reach VIP. The Lord gave many precious souls. They were Baptized in Bible Believing churches.
In 1994, in one of the unique experiences, the Lord laid burden on the heart of Rev.Dr.Khristmukti to reach Blind children.
Many children in Indian villages are born blind or become blind in childhood due to malnutrition, lack of medical treatment, illiteracy, diseases, poverty, superstition etc. Their parents mostly work in fields or factories. Some are single parent or handicapped or alcoholic hence cannot take care of them. Sometimes blind child become multiple handicapped. We saw many parents let their blind child die. We believe God has purpose for each soul and He loves these children.
As Rev.Khristmukti is the Methodist Minister, a Project under Gujarat Regional Conference of Methodist Church in India was formed and he was appointed as Director. A special home was started in October 1997. This was the first home in Gujarat. Children as small as two months took its advantage. When they grew to school going age they were admitted to local blind schools.
God provided all the needs miraculously and in 2003 two-story house was built for these blind children. This Centre continues to serve the Lord.
A Tribal believer from south Gujarat visited us in October 2007. He was excited to see little blind children. He informed us about blind children in his area. Gradually he brought two of them to our Centre.
Mr.D.K., that tribal believer shared his burden with us. He informed that several young Christian students have to be admitted in Secular Hostels and Schools for their education. They are ill-treated and standard of education is very low. Mr.DK wanted us to sponsor them to good School with Hostel. The place they live is about 370 km from Ahmedabad. It is very remote place.
At present in 2011-12, we fully support 28 Christian tribal students. Total expense per student per year is Rs.10,300/- (about US$229). We will value your prayers and assistance.
We want you to pray. Pray that they grow spiritually, be educated and live fruitful lives.
About 150 years ago when Missionaries came from USA and UK our forefathers were living in pathetical condition. They lifted them up, educated them and gave Jesus. Now after at least 6 generations we count it our responsibility to lift downtrodden, those have-nots. If we fail, they will not forgive us.
