Family News December 2011

Our dear relatives, friends and prayer partners,

We greet you warmly at this Advent! 

It seems year 2011 was fast one! (At the end of every year we feel like that!) We Praise God for this year. It was a special and significant for us as family. The Lord has kept all of us safe and healthy. And He used each of us for His glory.

• Shantijai & Hephsie: Shantijai was operated for prostate in mid march. It was successful. Hephsie was fine. 

• We have moved to Nadiad, our Home Town in mid June after serving the Lord for 45 years. (During my college studies, I was secretary for local Evangelical Union. We conducted Gospel and Discipleship Camps for four years). 

• Good News Meeting in February was well attended by 220 blind people of other faith. 

• Serving Friends Foundation is Charitable Trust Registered by our family. Since past four years we fully support 27-30 Christian tribal students at Baroda and Kathlal. Our students study well and grow spiritually. 

• Dorkas Tailoring Class: This class was dedicated by Respected Bishop Paul Chauhan in January. About 18 dropout girls at Slum of Meghaninagar, Ahmedabad undergo training. They come from lower strata of society and are Hindu. Instructor is believer and teaches one Bible verse daily. We conducted two half day retreat for them. 

• Blind people: We visited several blind people and students and befriended them. We took interest in their lives. 

• Good News Meeting: We will continue to conduct Good News meeting for the Blind people. Next one is planned, God willing, in second week of January 2012. 

• Family: Vandana and Arnest were blessed by Baby girl on October 30^th. Avishai is two years old. It is amazing to see how he grows and understand things. Vandana continues to help us in “Foundation”. 

• Arpit is Secretary for planning and Evaluation Committee in Union of Evangelical Students of India. He had to travel a lot throughout India during this year. He has big responsibilities on National level. The Lord guided him, granted him wisdom and travel mercy. Preeti looks after the Fort! Jason is now four. He enjoys studies at Junior KG. He is fond of drawing and enjoys it. Susan is growing. We celebrated her first birthday with great joy in July. 

• Bible Study Magazine: we continue to publish bimonthly Gujarati Bible study magazine (Vachan Tamara). Several pastors and Christian workers asked for it. We now send out 1500 copies. 

• Rag-pickers: We have visited several families at Saibaba colony, Nadiad. There are about 200 families. Most of them live on sale of paper & plastic waste. We saw about 15 blind beggars in this colony. We are planning to conduct special meeting for children in last week of December. A few out of 400 children go to school. There is great need to reach these neglected and deprived children.
